Bremer Kolloquium zur Politischen Theorie
In the Bremen Colloquium on Political Theory, which takes place weekly at InIIS, contributions by guests and InIIS members alternate with discussions of current literature in the field of political theory.
Particularly noteworthy is the series "Wild Theory." It consists of a series of lectures and workshops on current work in political theory, to which the participants of the colloquium as well as other interested parties are cordially invited. We will invite theoreticians who are in the phase between doctoral thesis and professorship to Bremen in order to present their current projects - and hopefully to further develop them in exchange with us. The opportunity for this is provided by a public lecture in the context of the colloquium, followed by a workshop. This workshop will serve as a productive discussion of the topic by reading and discussing thematically relevant texts and/or the Bremen participants' own work. We kindly ask you to register for the workshops in advance (see program for contact details), preferably at least one week in advance, so that we can include all interested parties.
Texts (scanned literature and papers of the speakers) will be made available in advance via the colloquium distribution list. All interested parties are invited - so feel free to pass on this program. If you would like to be placed on the mailing list, please contact Christian Leonhardt at chleon@uni-bremen.de.
The Colloquium under Pandemic Conditions:
In the summer semester of 2022, the colloquium will be held in attendance in the seminar room at InIIS. However, there will still be the possibility to participate via video link; see below for details. Furthermore, there are still some pandemic-related restrictions:
- Until further notice, we will continue to use masks in the seminar room. The only exceptions are the lecturer and, if applicable, the person commenting.
- Online participation: The fact that the colloquium has taken place online in the last semesters has taught us that there is always interest in participation from beyond the region. Therefore, we want to keep the possibility to participate via Zoom for the time being. At the same time, we would like to ask those who are from Bremen and the surrounding area to participate in situ rather than online, so that we can gradually find a way back into the usual university discussion culture. If you want to participate online, please write an email to Christian Leonhardt (chleon@uni-bremen.de) by 2 pm on the day of the respective session. He will then prepare the video link and send you the corresponding link.
